Monday 10-9-17

Today Ms. Lamb is out and Mrs. Turcotte is in as a guest teacher. We carefully reviewed computer expectations and students are working to finish their second personal narrative.  Tomorrow we will take one last look together and read it aloud to a partner before posting on google classroom. This round, Ms. Lamb will be publishing to the bulletin boards and we will all get a chance to read each others' work. I know it is all worth reading.

We will complete our post assessment on this unit on November 13th in class. In the meantime, we will have a daily prompt to write in our journals. Computer composing is allowed. Students are asked to create a folder called writing journal and share with Ms. Lamb.  Students are always welcome to make up their own prompt or writing idea. We will write daily Monday through Thursday. Occasionally there will be a no choice prompt (like for social studies or science.)

We took our Diagnostic Spelling Assessment on Thursday. We will start regular spelling sometime this week - probably Wednesday or Thursday with a mid week to mid week rotation this year.

Tonight's homework:

LA prompt - use your notes from our visit to Mills River Park on Friday. Create a short report, story, poem or any kind of writing piece that moves you. We will be publishing these also to kick off our prompt writing. (This may have been finished in class today.)

Read for 30 minutes

Math: (sorry, I don't know this, check homework assignment book)
